It appears that schools have implemented a Zero Tolerance policy that arrests students for any violation that’s remotely attached, no matter how absurb it is, to the incident. If you don’t want to read the article, I’ll sum it up in a few sentences. Basically a 12 year old girl wrote some stupid message on her desk “i love my friends, i was here” and immediately teachers and education administration officials contacted police and the poor girl was taken off in handcuffs. Her crime? Being a stupid kid, the punishment though was definitely unwarranted.
It amazes me how stupid adults are, giving their problems to somebody else and then claiming blanket statements “we want to protect the school etc etc” but when is enough, enough. Dumbass bitch Margie Feinberg, New York City Department of Education spokeswoman said “Our mission is to make sure that public schools are a safe and supportive environment for all students” now call me crazy but writing a silly statement on a desk that doesn’t offend or target any particular person in a negative way doesn’t seem like such a safety violation. Definitely some diciplinary action should be given, possibly 2 weeks detention or call to her parents, but having her cuffed up and taken away for some an asanine violation of the rules is ridiculous.
It brings to light how “using discretion” just doesn’t seem to work anymore, because the people who are suppose to use discretion don’t have intelligence. It’s a serious problem, and yet we trust these numbskull pieces of trailer park trash to educate our kids. My personal opinion is it’s more of an ego trip for these higher officials, like to dominate children. Children are idiots no doubt, but as adults we gotta learn how to deal with them properly, not send them off so it’s someone elses problems. This doesn’t excuse parents responsbility to teach their kids either, parents are always at fault and should pay more attention on their children.
You could blame the police too, but we all know police are stupid and useless and just mindless fucks who do whatever they are told. Wow, I hadn’t known school system has gotten so bad, it seems like we are going in the opposite direction of progress. When anarchy ensues, point the finger at yourself Margie Feinberg, you dumb fuck.
